In this Article, We would like to study about seaports in India. A small water body that is connected to a sea and which acts as a sandwich between that sea and the land and where a ship is used to dock is called a Seaport. India’s 13 major seaports are located in the coastal states and in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A seaport can be Natural or Artificial. For example, the Mumbai seaport is an example of a Natural seaport while the Chennai seaport is an example of an Artificial seaport.
