List of Social welfare schemes of Uttar Pradesh

1. National family benefit scheme

  • Also known as rastriya parivarik labh yojna
  • Launched by ministry of rural development.
  • It was started by UP Government in November 2016.
  • Below poverty line family
  • Lead earner lost his life
  • Next head will get financial assistance
  • Applicant age must be between 18 to 60 years
  • Rs30,000 compensation.(20,000 before 2013 after that amount revised)
  • Family income of rural area must be less than Rs46080 and of urban area should be Rs56,450.
  • Application form downloaded from samajkalyan website and need to be submit to district magistrate.

2. Indira Gandhi old age pension scheme

  • Launched in 1995.
  • It is one of the five scheme of National social assistance program.
  • BPL family
  • 60 or above age
  • Monthly pension Rs200 upto 79years and after that Rs500/month
  • NSAP was launched on 15th August,1995.It is fully funded central sponsored scheme.
  • NSAP is implemented by Ministry of rural development.

3. Indira Gandhi National widow Pension scheme

  • Implemented by ministry of rural development.
  • Minimum age should be 40 years to get benefit. Application upto 79years. (40-79years)
  • Rs 300/month pension upto 79 years and after that Rs500/months.
  • BPL Family
  • In case of remarriage or once the widow move to above poverty line , pension will be discontinued.
  • It is one of the five scheme of National social assistance program.

4. Indira Gandhi National disability pension scheme

  • It is one of the five scheme of National social assistance program.
  • Launched in February 2009.
  • Implemented by ministry of rural development.
  • BPL family.
  • Minimum age should be 18 years to get benefit.
  • Rs300/months pension upto 79 years and Rs500/months after that.
  • Applicant disability should be more than 80%.

5. National Family benefit scheme

  • BPL
  • In case of bread earner death
  • Ministry  of rural development
  • One of the five scheme under NSAP.
  • Rs20,000 given to surviving member of the family.
  • 18 to 60 years age.
  • Primary bread earner can be either male or female.
  • Spouse, minor child, unmarried daughter and dependent parent is only consider for financial assistance.

6. Annapurna Scheme

  • Launched on 1st april,2000.
  • Only for those senior citizer who is not cover under Indira Gandhi National old age pension scheme.
  • 10kg foodgrain free of cost to beneficiary.
  • Implemented by ministry of rural development.

7. PMJJY ( Jeevan Jyoti Bima yojna)

  • Implemented by ministry of finance.
  • Launched on 9th may,2015.
  • One year cover, renewable year to year.
  • Age-18-50years
  • Premium Payable-Rs436 per year
  • Insurance cover- Rs 2 lakhs
  • Applicant must have individual Bank/Post office account.

8. Atal Beemit vyakti kalian yojna

  • Implemented by ministry of Ministry of labor and employment
  • It was launched in 2018 for two years on pilot basis by Employee state insurance corporation(ESIC).
  • It objective was to provide financial assistance to a person when he became unemployed.
  • Insured person will get 50% of his average daily income.
  • Relief will be provided for maximum 90 Days.
  • To get benefit, applicant must complete at least two year of insurable employment.
  • In the ESI system, each year is divided into two contribution period(1.April to Semptember ,2. October to March).
  • To get benefit, person must contributed at least 78 days in each of the three consecutive contribution period.

9. PMEGY( employment generation scheme)

  • It was launched in August,2008.
  • Implemented by Ministry of MSME.
  • Nodal implementing agency is khadi and village industry commission(KVIC)
  • It is a credit linked subsidy scheme.
  • This scheme was approved by 15th finance commission for the period of 2021-22 to 2025-26.

10. Leprosy pension scheme

  • It is operated by department of empowerment of persons with disabilities, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh is eligible for this scheme.
  • Beneficiary will get Rs3000/months
  • Applicant must be disabled due to Leprosy.
  • BPL family
  • Should not be taking benefit of other pension scheme.
  • No Age restriction for this scheme.

11. Beti bachao beti padhao

  • It was introduced in 2015.
  • By the ministry of women and child development.
  • Improve child sex ratio
  • Gender equality.
  • Encourage education and participation of girls child.
  • It was launched with initial funding of 100cr.

12. PMGKAY(Gareeb kalyan Ann yojna)

  • Supply free food grains to migrants and Poor.
  • 5kg food grain to each family member per months.
  • It was launched in 2020.
  • Implemented by Ministry of finance.
  • Family from Antyodaya Ann yojna(AAY) and priority household(PHH) category will be eligible for this.
  • PHH is identified by state/UT government as per their norms while AAY is identified by state and UT as per central government norms.
  • Extended till December 2028.

13. CM samuhik vivah yojna

  • Open for all community of Uttar Pradesh
  • Rs51000 per marriage
  • Family income should be less than 2 lakhs
  • At least 10 couple is required for mass wedding.
  • Launched in October 2017.
  • Out of 51,000, 35,000 deposite in bank account of bride, 10,000 for required material for marriage and Rs 6000 for expenses on marriage.

14. Vikaas day care scheme for person with disability children

  • Launched by ministry of social justice and empowerment.
  • It was launched in 2015-16.
  • It is run by national trust, a statutory body established in 1999.
  • This scheme is available across India.
  • For enhancing interpersonal and vocational skill for person with disability.
  • Minimum age of applicant should be 10 years.
  • Registered organization(RO) should provide training at least 6 hrs in a day along with age specific activities.

15. Divyang pension scheme

  • Age of the applicant should be 18 years.
  • Minimum 40%    disability.
  • BPL family.(Rs 46080 in rural and Rs56460 in Urban area.)
  • Rs 1000 per month pension.
  • Department of empowerment of person with disability is responsible to provide loan.

16. PM- Surya Ghar muft Bijli yojna

  • It was launched on 15th feb,2024 by Narendra Modi.
  • Subsidy will be provided on installation of rooftop solar plant.
  • For consumption up to 150 unit, 1 to 2 kw plant is installed and minimum 30,000 and maximum 60,000 subsidy is provided.
  • For consumption above 150 unit but below 300 unit, 2 to 3 kw plant is installed and minimum 60,000 and maximum Rs78000 subsidy is provided.
  • For more than 3kw consumption, maximum Rs78,000  subsidy is provided.

17. Niramaya health insurance scheme

  • Launched by ministry of social justice and empowerment.
  • By department of empowerment of person with disabilities.
  • Provide insurance cover of Rs 1 lakhs.
  • Any disable person of India is eligible.
  • Enrollment fee for BPL family and family with income upto 15,000 per month is Rs250.Renewal fee is same.i.e Rs 250
  • Enrollment fee If family income is greater than Rs15,000 per months is Rs550. Renewal fee is Rs500.

18. Shravan Kumar shramik parivar tirth yatra yojna(SKSPTYY)

  • It was launched by Uttar Pradesh government in 2022.
  • Maximum Rs 12000 is provided for the travel expenses.
  • It is for construction worker registered under company Act,1948.
  • Cumumlative monthly salary should not be more than Rs15000.

19. Raja Harishchandra shramik mritak antyeshti sahayata yojana

  • It was launched by Government of Uttar Pradesh.
  • For the worker who dies on duty.
  • Worker should be registered under company act,1948.
  • Cumulative salary should not exceed more than Rs15,000.
  • Financial assistance is Rs 10,000.
  • It is mandatory to  apply within one year of death.

20. Samarth respite care centre

  • Launched by ministry of social justice and empowerment.
  • By the department of empowerment of person with disabilities.
  • Disabled person.
  • For all BPL and LIG family.
  • Applicant should not registered Disha,Vikaas or Gharaunda scheme simultaneously.
  • Registered organization will provide group home,vocational activities,staffing and infrastructure and all for disable person.

21. Dattopant Thengadi Mratak Shramik aarthik sahayata yojna

  • Financial assistance to the family of registered worker die while in service.
  • 1 lakhs financial assistance.
  • Cumulative servive should not be more than 15,000.
  • Worker should be registered under factory Act,1948.

One stop centre

22. PM Ujjwala yojana 2.O

  • Launched by PM from mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh
  • Extended for three years from 2023-24 to 2025-26.
  • 75lakhs additional connection will be provided through this scheme.
  • In 2016, Ministry of petroleum and natural gas launched this scheme.
  • Free LPG connection to women of BPL family.
  • Any adult women from sc,st family, prime minister awas yojna beneficiary, antyodaya ann yojna beneficiary, forest dwellers,tea and ex tea garden tribes,poor household as per 14 point declaration,people residing in island and river island, most backward class family.
  • Applicant should not have any LPG connection.
  • Rs 1600 is provided for 14.2 kg connection and Rs1150 for 5 kg gas connection.

Pahal Inetiative

  • Pratyaksh hastantarit labh, direct cash transfer to benefiaciary account.
  • It was launched by government of india in 2014 to eliminate dublicate connection.
  • Purchase LPG at market price and if eligible, subsidy will be provided to the beneficiary account.

Self Employment scheme for Rehabilitation of manual scavenger

23. Kanya Sumangala yojna

  • It was launched on 25th October ,2019.
  • Its benefits are application in six catergory.
  • Phase 1 – on the birth of girl child,phase-2 on the complete Vaccination of girl child after 1 years.
  • Phase-3 Admission of girl child in 1st standard, phase-4-Admission of girl child in 6th standard
  • Phase 5- admission of girl child in 9th standard.Phase 6- girl child pass the 12th exam and taken admission in graduation or diploma courses.
  • (2000+1000+2000+2000+3000+5000)
  • Total 15,000 benefit is transferred in six stages.
  • In financial year 2024-25, Uttar Pradesh Government increase the amount from 15,000 to 25,000.(5000+2000+3000+3000+5000+7000)
  • Family income should be less than 3 lakh per annum.
  • Family should not have more than 2 child.
  • Maximum two daughters are eligible.
  • Girl child born after 1st april 2019 will get full amount and the girl child who born before this date will get the amount for stages at which she is eligible.

24. Kabir puraskar scheme

  • Launched by ministry of home affairs.
  • Awarded for act performed during communal riots
  • There is three grade name grade 1,grade 2 and grade 3  this award was instituted.
  • Grade 1 –Rs20,000
  • Grade 2 –Rs10,000
  • Grade 3-Rs5,000

25. Panchayat Kalyan Kosh

  • It was introduced by panchayati raj department,Uttar Pradesh.
  • Finacial assistance to the family or dependent of Gram Pradhan, Kshetra Panchayat pramukh,zila panchayat president ,and all member of panchayati raj elected representative.
  • In case of death while in office
  • 10 lakhs to pradhan, block pramukh and zila president.
  • 5 lakhs-Member of zila panchayat
  • 3 lakhs-Member of kshetra panchayat
  • 2 lakhs- Member of gram panchayat

26. Berojgari Bhatta yojna

  • Minimu age 21 years maximum age 35 years.
  • Financial assistance- Rs1000 to 1500
  • Unemployed youth
  • Minimum 10th pass
  • Family income less than 3 lakhs.

  • Launched on 1st june,2020.
  • Micro credit central sector scheme.
  • By ministry of housing and urban affairs.
  • Financial assistance to street vendor.
  • 10,000 financial assistance.
  • Interest rate-7%
  • No collateral or bonding is required.
  • Promote digital transaction.
  • On adopting digital transaction Rs100 per month cash back is provided.

32. PM-POSHAN ( Prime Minister overarching scheme for holistic nourishment)

  • By ministry of education.
  • By department of school education and literacy.
  • Launched in September,2021.
  • If citizen of India
  • Studying in primary or upper primary school
  • 450 gram calorie for primary and 700 gram calorie for upper primary students
  • 12 gram and 20 gram protein for primary and upper primary student respectively.
  • It replaced mid day meal scheme for the period of 2021-22 to 2025-26.
  • Mid day meal scheme was launched in august 1995 and it is a central sponsored scheme.
  • Balvatika is a preschool for the children below 6 year age.
  • 60:40 funding pattern.
  • Nutrition is provided to Balvatika to upto 8th standard students.

Poshan Abhiyan ( also known as National Nutrition Mission)

  • It was launched on march 8,2018 by ministry of womens and child development.
  • To reduce stunting(low height)
  • Reduce underweight among newborn
  • Reduce anemia
  • Reduce under nutrition

  • Observed annually by ministry of women and child development.
  • Addressing malnutrition.
  • Promoting better nutrition.
  • Celebrated in the month of September.
  • In 2024, Nationwise plantation drive happen on the occasion of rastriya poshan maah.”Ek ped Maa ke naam.

  • It is a mobile app.
  • Monitor health and nutrition of children and pregnant women of India.

National award for e-governance

  • Presented annually since 2003.
  • By department of administrative reform and public grievances.(DARPG)
  • For poshan tracker initiative, ministry of women and child development won national award for e governance.

33. Uttar pradesh Old Age pension scheme

  • Only senior citizen of BPL family.
  • Age should be between 60 to 150 years.
  • Rs 1000 Pension would be given.
  • If income of rural family is 46080.
  • If income of urban family is Rs56460.

34. Widow pension-Uttar Pradesh

  • If the age of the widow not less than 18 years.
  • If BPL family.
  • Rs1000 per month pension.
  • Administered by Uttar Pradesh women welfare department.

35. Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihood Mission

  • It is the flagship program of ministry of rural development.
  • To become self employed and access financial services.
  • Allow state to create their own poverty reduction plan.
  • It was launched in 2011.
  • Self help group(SHG) created.
  • Community driven approach and linked with panchayati raj institution.
  • Enhanced income generation through micro interprises and skill based job.

36. UP mukhyamantri Bal seva yojna

  • If children below 18 , any one parents or both parents die due to non covid reason.
  • Studedents between 18 to 23 years pursuing higher education, if any one or both parents die due to covid or non covid reason
  • If children of divorced mother
  • If children parents is imprisoned.
  • If children family is begger or involve in prostitution.
  • Children rescued from child labou, begging or prostitution.
  • Family income should be less than 3 lakhs.
  • Monthly financial assistance is Rs25,00.

37. PM Bhartiya janushadhi pariyojna

  • Launched in November,2016.
  • By department of pharmaceutical.

38. UP Shauchalaya sahayata yojna

  • Launched in 2017 by Uttar Pradesh Government.
  • For the registered building &construction worker of uttar Pradesh.
  • Rs6000 before toilet built and Rs6000 after toilet built.
  • Total benefit would be Rs12000.

39. Jyotibha phule shramik kanyadan yojna

  • Launched by Uttar Pradesg Government .
  • For the registered worker under factory act,1948.
  • Financial assistance of Rs51000 for daughter marriage.
